Scale Model of the Solar System

This is a scale model of our solar system.
The planet sizes and distances are all to scale.
One pixel = 656km.

Pay attention to the scroll bar and see how far out you are. This page starts at the center of our solar system, here at the top, and ends with Pluto at the bottom.

If you try to navigate by dragging the scroll bar, you'll see that it's almost impossible to find even a single planet. A browser window (in a 1024x768 desktop) will show little more than 400,000 km at a time. For every single pixel that the scroll bar slides, the view jumps about 10-17 million km. This means that, using the scroll bar, you can only view 2-4% of this web page (which is mostly empty space anyway).

After you've given up trying to find anything with the scroll bar, come back to the top and use the colored links.
